Considering service and philanthropy is at the heart of Indy’s thriving community, here at Indyfluence we always make a point to give back to our community through service projects or charitable donations.
Each year, our interns vote on the causes and nonprofits that are most important to them, and then we do our part to support their mission. Together, our Indyfluence interns help make a difference here in the Indy region.
Just a couple of weeks ago at the MEET INDY Welcome Event, this process began, as Indyfluence interns were given the opportunity to vote on which general cause they wanted to give towards. The interns collectively selected to give towards nonprofits centered on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Once this had been decided, four finalist organizations were chosen—
1. The Joseph Maley Foundation
The Joseph Maley Foundation celebrates differences while cultivating an inclusive community through service and education of youth in Greater Indianapolis. More information about The Joseph Maley Foundations can be found here.
2. Trinity Haven
Trinity Haven is Indiana’s very first residential facility and Host Homes Program to focus on the needs of LGBTQ+ youth and young adults who are experiencing housing instability. More information about Trinity Haven can be found here.
3. Project Azul
The mission of Project Azul is to provide individuals with the flexible training and financial assistance needed to transition from unemployment or underemployment into full-time positions. More information about Project Azul can be found here.
4. Exodus Refugee Immigration
Exodus Refugee Immigration (Exodus) is dedicated to the protection of human rights by serving the resettlement needs of refugees and other displaced people fleeing persecution, injustice, and war by welcoming them to Indiana. More information about Exodus Refugee Immigration can be found here.
The interns were introduced to these four organizations last week, and were informed that one of the organizations will receive $14,000 based on who receives the most votes by the end of the GIVE BACK TO INDY event on July 21st.
Indyfluence is excited to give young professionals the ability to GIVE BACK to the Indy community, helping to create a lasting impact on our city!
